FHA offers a variety of parent classes designed to guide parents looking to play an active role in their child's foreign language education. Learn along side your child with FHA!
Our parent language courses are year long virtual courses divided into two semesters (Parent Spanish A and Parent Spanish B) and available through different tuition packages. Our parent language courses are generally Friday sessions and follow the same trajectory as the 7th-12th grade courses with adjustments made for adult learners. Although the majority of our students in our parent language courses are parents of our students with a desire to learn the language along side their child, our parent classes are open to any adult interested in learning a language.
Our Bilingual Babies Parent Course is a month long virtual class for parents of infants and toddlers designed to help educate parents who have little to no foreign language experience. In this class, parents will learn basic vocabulary and key concepts and develop the skills necessary to introduce a foreign language into daily activities with their child(ren). The instructor will discuss how to find and access a wide variety of helpful resources so that when they finish the class, they will be well prepared to become the teachers to their child(ren). This class will meet twice a week for four weeks. Specific schedule varies depending on availability of interested parents.
